Welcome

Ok, all you Alfords out there - I am starting a blog to help us keep in touch and updated about what is going on in everyone's lives! Blogging is a great way to keep everyone in the loop and it is easy and best of all it's FREE! I will invite everyone who is on my email list to become a contributor to this blog, meaning you can upload photos, announcements....pretty much anything you want to...to the blog for all to see!
I will start out by uploading photos taken at Grandma Hoover's funeral last month. The service turned out really nice and it was great to see cousins that we haven't seen in a long time, or never even met before. I know a funeral isn't the best place to take photos, but unfortunately that seems to be the only time we get to see each other, which isn't a good thing. SO, at Grandma's funeral there was talk of having an "Alford Family Reunion" this summer up in Bear Lake at Aunt Louis' place. She is grandma's sister (I will include a photo of her) and she owns a house on the beach at Bear Lake. Anyway, she invited us to come up there in the summertime. I think it would be a FABULOUS idea! We can plan a date and whoever can make it...can make it! Bear Lake is such a perfect place, too! So, what do you all think?????? Bear Lake 2009 or bust???!!!

Grandma Hoover's Funeral

The first photo is of Grandma in her later years, the second is when she was 16 years old, the third is when she was a baby, the fourth was with her siblings: Top: L to R Louis, Shirley, Bottom L to R: Laraine, Ronnie, (Ralph is missing) the fourth is of Shirley and Lois sitting on some steps.

This is a scan of the photograph cover, which says the photo was taken at the Papiano's Club: Chariot in Salt Lake City (I guess this is where Shirley and Dale got married), the next photo is of Shirley and Dale with their mother's, Anelda Alford and Helen Church, the next is a photo with Dale and Shirley with their witnesses (I believe the women is her sister Louis Jacobson and the man is Wayne Brostrom, possibly Dale's cousin, since his Aunt Jessie's last name was Brostrom, a group photo, and then a cropped image of Shirley.
